This year the Denver gem show would be an interesting one, the Crowne Plaza location was no longer to be, so the dealers have now moved to 3 different locations, so we knew it would be a tricky one to maneuver to be sure to find those first deals. Hard rock summit was definitely the place to be, they picked a new location, and the organization of this show was spectacular - these are the same organizers that do the Munich show, so you know you can always trust the Germans to make things neat and friendly.
The mood seemed to be down, partially due to the confusions of the new locations, but also the market seemed to be a little slow over the past year. Many businesses had an overflow of inventory, both on the retail side and the wholesale side, however the prices did not seem to go down much. Unique stones were still going strong, its more the commercial materials that seemed to be flooding the tables. But we came hungry and ready, so we knew this was an opportunity to get good deals and boy did we ever.
As always, enjoy our picture slides below.
With the show starting early September, its now become a tradition to take the girls to school for the first day, Mila started grade 3 and Sophia SK. This year I had to move the flight a day later to ensure I don't miss this special occasion - they were so excited!
Straight to the hunt, all 3 of us busy looking through boxes to find that special stone.
Picked up some remarkable Rutilated Quartz pieces - never seen such high quality with such size.

Highly recommend - a very cool restaurant called Buckhorn Exchange. Firstly, amazing meat. Secondly, they had an alcohol license hanging on their wall with the #1. They were the first licensed alcohol dealer in the state of Colorado dating back to 1893
