A completely last second decision, but I decided few days beforehand to fly over to Europe and visit the beautiful show in the Alsace mountains. A trip was just 5 days, and after flying into Frankfurt, I had 2 days to hang out before visiting the show for 3 days. It was a really good hunt, brought lots of exciting goodies, and got to see many old friends, and make some new ones along the way. As always, you can see the pictures of the trip below :)
Straight from the Airport, love the Autobahn, my first stop was going to be Mannheim, a city on the way down to France I figured I can explore for half a day
A more modern city, Mannheim had lots of unique old architecture, and found some nice bars to watch Eurocup, and see the excited Italians tie Croatia
Next day did a hike in the Black Forest. An old church here
Beautiful nature, this was the inspiration behind Grimm brothers and their stores
Then stopped in Baden Baden to unwind a little in the spa
Had dinner in Heidelbeg, home of this incredible castle that was built in the 16th century. Also this is the place where Heidelberg man was discovered, a first ancestor of humans on the European continent - aged roughly 790,000 years old
The night I spent in Strasbourg, enjoying this typical Alsacian dish - honestly, I've had better..
The city is gorgeous though
Finally, Sainte Marie Aux Mines show!!
As always, beautiful displays left and right
The colors...drool
Beautiful countertops from Madagascar
Beads in all colors of the rainbow
Incredible Rubies
A building dedicated to local miners, specializing in Swiss and French minerals - Quartz, smokies, gwindels, fluorites, French sapphires, and many more!
Making new friends from Belgium at a cute restaurant in the foothills
Fresh from the trees, so goood
Would you wear a shoe made from Rhodochrosite? Probably not very orthopedic..
Got invited to the dealer party, with music drinks and good food, this was a great time
But I did leave the car 3km away, and a sudden thunderstorm at 11pm ended the party and I had to walk back drenched
On the way back to Frankfurt, had a morning, so came back to Strasbourg for breakfast and one more nice walk along the river
See you soon France :)
