End of January, holidays are behind, but the biggest holiday for gem lovers is here! Tucson! With our new store open for a few months now, our goal was to bring the most beautiful pieces to add to our collection for display in Promenade - and boy was this hunt a success.
Started off with a rocky start, us missing the connecting flight in Denver because the Airplane in Toronto wasn't able to charge its engine on time (didn't know this was a thing, is Tesla entering the airplane market?). We lost a day, and when we arrived I realized I caught a bad virus and was bedridden for a couple days to start it all off...but Elena and Valeri are seasoned veterans, and started off seeing our friends and acquiring some incredible pieces. But couple days in, we were back to full force of things!
With the market being a bit of a rollercoaster, we noticed that the attendance was down this year, with many small businesses (especially online) not showing up. This was an indication that a lot of people who entered this business during Covid realized its not so easy, and the dealers were all confirming this. This also meant that there were good deals to be had for those who did make it. We had a very fruitful hunt, acquiring many exquisite pieces, and a great selection of rare gems.
As always, here is a photobomb for you all to enjoy :)
