Gemmy Demantoid Garnet Silver Pendant from Madagascar - 0.8" - 1.30 Grams

This is a really nice rare olive green Demantoid Garnet crystal 925 Silver Pendant from Madagascar. Madagascar Demantoid was only discovered in 2009. Now, because the mine is so close to the seashore, the mine has been flooded as the diggings got too deep to hold back the water, so the operations are done for now, and possibly for good.
Demantoide is brilliant green variety of andradite garnet, colored by chromium and ferric iron and considered to be the rarest and most valuable member of the garnet group of minerals.
Demantoid garnet has high luster associated with a strong dispersion 0,057, higher than diamond.
